Abstract

813,426. Electric-circuit assemblies. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. Jan. 3, 1958, No. 331/58. Class 37. An electric circuit assembly comprises a transistor and other components encapsulated in a casting resin, with at least the transistor having an elastic coating applied thereto before the encapsulation. In the preferred embodiment the circuit comprises a transistor oscillator, the oscillator components being mounted between terminals 1-8 on a board 27 having leads 9, 10 extending therefrom. After assembly but before encapsulation an elastic coating, which may be of a silicone compound, is sprayed over the assembly. The assembly is then cast within an epoxy resin block. Insulating sleeving is placed over the leads 9, 10 and terminals 30, 31 affixed thereto. The assembly of capacitors, resistors and wiring may alternatively be printed, the transistor being added to the printed circuit which is then sprayed and encapsulated.
