811,075. Telescopic masts; scaffolding for workmen. UNION JOINERY & IMPORTING CO. Ltd. Oct. 8, 1956 [Oct. 13, 1955], No. 30584/56. Classes 20(1) and 20(2) [Also in Group XXX] A sleeve 12, supporting a platform or a cantilever bridge for workmen, telescoping over a mast 10 can be raised relatively to the mast by cables 26 each passing from a pulley hoist 16 on the sleeve under a pulley 30 on the sleeve to an adjustable anchorage 32 on the mast. In the construction illustrated the mast and sleeve are rectangular in plan and a pulley hoist 16 is provided at each corner. The mast is formed in sections such that when the sleeve 12 has been raised sufficiently a further section may be secured to the top of the mast. The sleeve 12 can then be locked in position while the anchorage 32 is shifted to the new section of the mast.
