Class 137 [Also in Groups XII and XIII] A moisture exchanger for drying an air stream by means of another air stream of higher temperature comprises a housing having a separate inlet, a separate outlet and a separate duct for each air stream, a moisture transfer body moving in a closed path within the housing through the ducts, transition zones through which the moisture transfer body passes from one duct to the other and means to introduce air into one or the other of the transition zones to change the temperature of the moisture transfer body when passing from one duct to the other, the moisture transfer body comprising a mass of thin sheet elements mutually supported to form intervening small open passages between the inlets and the outlets of the ducts when passing therethrough and serving as carriers for an hygroscopic material. The particular description is the same as the description with reference to Figs. 1-4 of Specification 808,411. Specifications 770,201 and 808,414 also are referred to.
