Abstract
804,295. Switch contacts. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Sept. 28, 1956 [Oct. 4, 1955], No. 29691/56. Class 38 (5). A contact spring pile-up has an energy-absorbing member 3 normally abutting the fixed contact 2, the member 3 being moved away from contact 2 by the impact of moving contact 1 on contact 2. The member 3 is positively held in its new position after such movement by a spring 8 which moves over-centre, or by a latch (Fig. 1, not shown). The member 3 can be arranged to be returned to its normal position when the contacts are opened.
