803,904. Drying fabrics. AMERICAN CYANAMID CO. Oct. 11, 1956 [Feb. 13, 1956], No. 30979/56. Class 34(1) Apparatus for drying long lengths of synthetic material under controlled humidity conditions comprises a cabinet 10 in which the material 28 passes over rollers 4...26 and is subjected to air of controlled moisture content directed on to it by jets 54...58. The air supplied to the jets is drawn from the atmosphere through inlet 74 by a fan 78 and passes through the section 82 over steam-heated coils to conduit 94 and thence to the jets. After passing through the jets the air is exhausted by fan 104 to conduit 108, provided with a water drain 120 and valve 122 for withdrawing any water which accumulates and a damper 110 in conduit 76 controls the amount of air recirculated. The humidity of the circulating air is controlled by a valve 114 leading to a supply of saturated steam.
