[Also in Group XXI] In a diving helmet a thin rubber liner fits closely to the wearer's head and has an opening surrounding the eyes, nose and mouth. Over the opening is an outer cover of thicker material having a window and an air inlet. As shown, the liner 41 has an opening 45 over which is the outer cover 48 in which is the window 47 and the air inlet 56. A manually controlled exhaust valve 64 is connected to the space between 41 and 48. Flexible compartments, 50, in communication with the space between 41, 48, are adapted to wrap round the head, over the liner, and are secured at the rear by connection 51.
