Abstract

798,899. Two-part couplings. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Oct. 23, 1956 [Oct. 26, 1955], No. 32278/56. Class 38(1). A plug comprises a pair of insulating plates 5, 17 held together by a screw 19, enlargements 7 on the pins 1 being trapped between the plates so that the pins are retained in holes in the plate 5. Each pin has an extension 21 locating in a smaller hole 23 in plate 17 and a conductor is soldered in a groove 15 on the enlargement. Each plate has more holes than there are pins, whereby the arrangement of the pins may be altered to suit different sockets. In the example shown, the larger holes for the pins of an alternative arrangement are located in the upper plate 17, the extensions 21 locating in smaller holes in the plate 5.
