Abstract
Yarns are made by spinning viscose, having a gamma value of 42-47 and to which is added 0.06-0.4 per cent by weight of isopropanolamine, in a bath which contains at least 3.2 per cent of zinc sulphate and the sulphuric acid concentration of which is the same as or lower than the alkali concentration of the viscose. The spinning bath may have a sodium sulphate content of 14-20 per cent and is preferably maintained at 45-70 DEG C. The yarns may be stretched during coagulation and may be subjected to further stretching in a hot, weakly acid bath.
