Abstract
794,729. Endless belt conveyers. BEUKENBERG, H., and BEUKENBERG, H., [trading as MASCHINENFABRIK GLUCKAUF G. KLERNER]. Feb. 10, 1955 [Feb. 10, 1954], No. 4003/55. Class 78 (1). Means for facilitating the removal of fines which fall from a conveyer belt as the belt passes around its terminal roller 3 from the lower run to the upper run consists of side plates 1, 2 which shield the belt for a distance corresponding to twice the diameter of the roller and are provided with apertures 8, 12 through which material which has collected in chambers 7, 9 may be removed. The plates are connected by a top plate 4. A scraper 13, Fig. 2, positioned above the upper surface of the lower run in front of the chamber 9 removes most of the material from that surface. Any residual material is conveyed up over the roller 3 and drops into the chamber 7, whilst material adhering to the lower face of the return run drops into the chamber 9. Each or both chambers 7, 9 may be provided with a trough shaped container which is removable through the apertures in the plates 1, 2. A grid 11 shields the chamber 9 from the lower run.
