Abstract

The invention comprises two dyes of the formul\mg: <FORM:0794176/IV (b)/1> and <FORM:0794176/IV (b)/2> and also the production thereof by condensing p-phenetidine with 4-chlor-3-nitro-benzene-sulphon - a - hydroxymethyl propylamide and with 4 - chlor - 3 - nitro - benzene - sulphon a -methyl - b - hydroxypropylamide. The products dye cellulose ester and ethers, nylon, and polyesters orange yellow shades by the aqueous dispersion method. The dyed textiles may be aftertreated with amidogenformaldehyde condensates according to Specification 794,179. Examples describe the reaction of 4-chlor-3-nitrobenzenesulphonyl chloride with 3-amino-2-butanol and with 2-amino-1-butanol in aqueous dispersion, and condensation of the sulphonamides obtained with p-phenetidine. Further examples describe their use in dyeing cellulose acetate and aftertreatment of the dyed material with N.N1-di-(methoxymethyl) ethylene urea, an organic amine hydrochloride, and formaldehyde.
