[Also in Group XXVII] A piston 28, Fig. 6, having rings 31, 40 coacting respectively with working and pump cylinders of an I.C. engine has an oil trap 46 feeding lubricating ports 47, return flow ports 48 being provided. A gas-tight seal between the working and pump cylinder spaces comprises contractile rings 43 ... 45. Fig. 5, the working cylinder having lubricating ducts 49 fed by oil circulated round an annular duct 50 leakage from which is prevented by seals 53, 54.
