Abstract

788,254. Printing-machines. SCHNELLPRESSENFABRIK FRANKENTHAL ALBERT & CIE. AKT.-GES. Oct. 12, 1955 [Oct. 14, 1954], No. 29006/55. Class 100(2) [Also in Group XIII] Drying apparatus. Apparatus for drying an intaglio printed web 19 of paper or textile includes a perforated drum 12 around which 'the web passes thereover and into the drum which is located between the side walls 1, 2 of a rotary intaglio printing machine, the drum having heating elements 13 for heating the air which is then recirculated, by a fan 7, via distributing box 5, except for a portion discharged to atmosphere through a conduit 9 or to a solvent recovery plant. Air flow is regulated by a throttle 11 so that when the throttle is fully open the drum surface remains cool while the air passing through the drum receives the heat. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 692,525.
