Abstract

786,974. Rope slings. HALL, T., and HALL, N. July 4, 1956 [April 5, 1955], No. 9853/55. Class 78 (4). A strop forming a sling comprises a number of turns A of stranded wire cable disposed in flat formation between a pair of shackles B, one end of the cable being divided into at least two parts A<SP>1</SP>, A<SP>1</SP> and threaded right- and left-hand over and under the turns A. The undivided end of the cable preferably terminates in the opposite shackle from the divided end and is secured to the shackle by an eye. According to the Provisional Specification the rope may be of nylon.
