Abstract

785,585. Shovelling machines. NEWBRIDGE PLANT SERVICES, Ltd. July 23, 1956 [April 16, 1956], No. 11498/56. Class 68(1) In a shovelling attachment for a tractor, a structure 1, 2, formed by a V frame 1 secured to parallel arms 2, that can be pivotally mounted on trunnions secured to either side of the. tractor and can be rotated about said trunnions by rams 4, pivotally connected between the arms 2 and brackets 5 securable to the tractor adjacent the trunnions 3 rotatably supports at the apex of the V frame 1 the king pin 7 of a shovelling unit 7, 10, 14, 20, 22, 23, 25. The king post 7 is rotatably supported in bearings in a bracket 6 forming part of the frame 1 and in an arm 8 secured to a frame 9 rigid with the frame 1. A ram 17 pivotally connected between the frame. 1 and a quadrant 18 causes rotation of the king post 7, the angular extent of such rotation being determined by which of the holes 19 in the quadrant the pivotal connection between the ram 17 and the quadrant is associated with. The boom 10 formed by a pair of interconnected parallel, triangular plates is pivotally mounted on lugs 12 of the king post 7 and is actuated by a ram 14 pivotally connected to a recessed lug 15 on the king post.
