782,756. Glass. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd. Feb. 27, 1956 [Jan. 26. 1955], No. 2385/55. Class 56. Glass possessing semi-conducting properties consists of P 2 O 5 and Fe 2 O 3 and/or U 2 O 5 made from a batch the percentage weight composition of which is within area A of the ternary diagram, Fig. 1. If the P 2 O 5 is introduced as sodium metaphosphate the batch has the percentage weight composition within area B of Fig. 2. P 2 O 5 58 Fe 2 O 3 42 is given as an example of a batch within area A. Examples of glasses made from batches within area B are P 2 O 5 46À7, 25, 14À3 and 8À7; Fe 2 O 3 43À1, 32À5, 9À2 and 0À0; V 2 O 5 0À0, 37, 73À4 and 89À4 and Na 2 O 10À2, 5À5, 3À1 and 1À9.
