A device for supporting an electric fencing wire comprises an insulating block 1, which may be meta] sheathed, forming with a bolt 3 carried thereby jaws to grip the post A and has an enlargement 5 thereon which insulates the wire from the post and carries the wire by slotted projections 9 thereon in which a bent wire 11 may slide to retain the fence wire or alternatively the wire may pass through a pig-tail on a pin projecting from the enlargement 5.
