Abstract
1,234,769. Supporting cables. J. D. PRICE. 21 Oct., 1968 [22 July, 1967], No. 33829/67. Heading H2C. An insulating wire support for an electric fence wire 3 comprises a wire-engaging insulating member 1 (which may be of P.V.C.) of rodlike form and a socket 5 which is formed in or secured on a (metal) fence post 6. The end part 4 of the wire-engaging member 1 is received by the socket 5 and secured by force fitting, indentation 9 or application when the socket is hot. The socket is secured to the post by welding, brazing, force fitting or local indentation at 8, or by screw-threaded engagement (Fig. 3, not shown) or a nut and bolt (Fig. 4, not shown); or via an adjustable clamp or a shank which is then attached to the post.
