Abstract

776,898. Finishing yarns. SETAR AKT.- GES. May 10, 1955 [May 20, 1954], No. 13455/55. Class 120 (3). A yarn of synthetic material e.g. a yarn of nylon or perlon filaments, is crimped by the successive treatments of twisting e.g. 3000 turns per metre, in one direction, fixing e.g. by application of saturated steam at 100‹C., twisting e.g. 3400 to 3800 turns per metre, in the opposite direction and to a greater extent than in the first twisting, winding into hanks wherein the yarn is permitted to stretch or shrink freely, and fixing at a temperature at least 30‹C. higher than the temperature at which the first fixing was effected e.g. by application of saturated steam at 130‹C. A third twisting in the same direction as the first and which may be sufficient to cancel the difference between the two previous twists may be applied.
