773,205. Plummer blocks. WEBB & CO., Ltd., H. C., and TAYLOR, F. W. June 21, 1955 [June 26, 1954], No. 18813/54. Class 12 (1). A plummer block comprises a single casting a having a plain cylindrical bore in which the outer race c of a ball or roller bearing is axially located by rings h which are retained by sheet metal pressings k secured to the ends of the block a. The end pressings are stepped axially outwards to provide an annular housing for an oil seal n made of synthetic rubber. A lubricant nipple q is mounted in the block a. When a pair of plummer blocks are used together, one of the rings h in each may be omitted.
