Abstract

Ice-colours are printed on textile materials by applying a composition containing a coupling component, a caustic alkali and a water-soluble diazoamino compound obtained from diazotized 1-amino-3 (or 4) - nitrobenzene substituted by one or two alkyl or alkoxy groups, or by one alkyl and one alkoxy group, and 2-alkyl-amino - 4 (or 5) - sulphobenzoic acid, and then developing with neutral steam in the absence of a volatile organic base. Examples describe the printing of cotton and regenerated cellulose fabrics. Specifications 715,249, 723,389 and 743,308 are referred to.
