Abstract
771,062. Suction end-catchers ; stop motions; alarms. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd. Feb. 8, 1955 [Feb. 11, 1954], No. 4066/54. Classes 120 (2) and 120 (3). [Also in Group XL (b) ] Relates to a textile machine in which broken textile material, such as roving or yarn, passes along a suction duct and interrupts a light beam thereby producing a change in the output of a photo-electric cell. The invention provides a frequency-selective filter so that the said output change operates through the filter to affect an indicator and/or means to stop the machine. In the Figures, broken roving or yarn drawn through suction duct 3 intercepts light beam 4 and the resultant steepfronted impulse in the output of photo-cell 6 passes through filter network F and via amplifier A fires a thyraton TC to operate an indicator or stop mechanism for the machine.
