Abstract

A therapeutic composition comprises a salt of 5-aminoacridine with a saturated fatty acid containing from 2 to 18 carbon atoms or with an unsaturated fatty acid containing from 11 to 22 carbon atoms, dissolved in oleyl alcohol and incorporated in a base of soft, hard or liquid paraffin, or microcrystalline wax or mixtures thereof. Examples relate to the use of 5-amino-acridine undecylenate, propionate, laurate, stearate and myristate. The compositions may be applied directly to the skin or wounds or used to impregnate surgical dressings.
