Abstract
A stable aqueous solution of the monosemicarbazone of adrenochrome is prepared by dissolving the monosemicarbazone in an aqueous solution of sodium benzoate. The solution, which may be isotonic or buffered, may be saturated with sodium benzoate or the monosemicarbazone, and may take the form of a sterilized concentrated solution which can be prepared for extemparaneous use as blood plasma by diluting with water, aqueous sodium benzoate solution, or a physiological salt or glucose solution. The concentrated solution may be sterilized by indirect steam heating or tyndallization.
