Abstract

An aqueous solution for waterproofing and similar treatment of paper, textiles &c., contains aluminium and potassium acetates and is made by reacting together neutral potassium alum and neutral lead acetate in aqueous solution, the weight ratio of alum to lead salt (both as hydrate) being 2:3, and removing the precipitated lead sulphate.
