Abstract
765,627. Dynamo-electric machines. OUTILLAGE ELECTRIQUE SILEX. March 10, 1955 [March 16, 1954], No. 7118/55. Class 35. A laminated toothed rotor has its laminations 1 held together by flanges 8, 9 of plastic material integral with a plastic body 12 which is injected under pressure inside the rotor bore 2. The flanges 8, 9 are joined together at their periphery by strips of plastic material running along the rotor slots 11. Circumferentially spaced copper rods 3 are embedded in the body 12 from which they protrude at both ends. The projecting rod ends 13 form commutator segments while the opposite ends are reduced in diameter and formed with connecting pins 14. The ends of the rotor individual coils are joined to the pins 14 to form a closed coil arrangement. The rods 3, instead of having a circular cross section, may have a tapering section so that the gap between two adjacent rods is constant in radial direction, also the rods 3 may have a longitudinal groove as in Figs. 5, 6 (not shown) to improve the strength of the commutator. The plastic body 12 is formed so as to receive a shaft 5 and the extension 20 of the body 12 serves as a supporting journal for the rotor.
