Abstract

764,287. Cables. SOC. ANON. DE TELECOMMUNICATIONS. Feb. 3, 1955 [May 12, 1954], No. 3244/55. Class 36. A symmetrical conductor pair comprises two conductors 1, each enclosed in an insulating tube 2 having regularly spaced constrictions 3, the insulated conductors being twisted together and enclosed in an extruded tube 9 of synthetic resin around which is arranged a metallic screen 10. The insulation 2 may be applied by the process disclosed in Specification 722,591. The screen 10 may comprise a longitudinally folded metal tape which is given more flexibility by tightly winding wires 11, 12 thereon so as to form grooves 13. A helically applied metal tape 14 secures the tape 10 and provides additional screening.
