Abstract
799,452. High -frequency conductors. WESTERN ELECTRIC CO., Inc. June 19, 1956 [June 30, 1955], No. 18943/56. Class 36. A high-frequency conductor comprises two continuous conducting members having coincident axes, each member enclosing the other over alternate portions of the length of the conductor, and each being insulated from the other. Each member may be formed from a wire, Fig. 3, flattened over sections of its length, the flattened sections being bent into channels 14. The unflattened sections 13 are insulated with tape 15 and the sections 13 of one member are then laid in the channels 14 of the other member and enclosed therein to form the complete conductor of Fig. 5. Alternatively, the members may be formed from flat strip in which case alternate sections of each member are bent into hollow cylinders which are then enclosed in the channel sections of the other member as described above. Additional conducting and insulating layers may be incorporated and when the enclosed sections are hollow, a conducting or insulating core may be provided.
