Abstract

764,052. Fencing posts. FERRIS, F. H., and LYND, E. N. Jan. 26, 1955 [Feb. 18, 1954], No. 2392 /55. Class 45. [Also in Group XXII] A fence batten, Fig. 1, comprising main flanges 2 and secondary flanges 4 is provided with slots 6, 7 as shown for the fencing wire, the tongues 8 defined by the slots being bent over by a tool 10, see Fig. 6 (not shown), to retain the wire in position. The batten may be of corrugated or zigzag shape, see Fig. 9 (not shown) and may be provided with a sharpened end 18 or a foot (not shown). The batten is made of iron or steel and galvanised, if so desired, or made of aluminium or aluminium alloy.
