Abstract

762,234. Spring upholstery. COOMBS, P. D. April 29, 1955 [May 26, 1954], No. 15585/54. Class 52 (4). A resilient support for a seat cushion consists of a small central rigid element 1 slung from the corners of the seat frame by an assembly of tension springs 4, 6, 7, 8 arranged as shown. A spring 10 is provided along the front to give a sprung edge. The corner anchorages of the springs arc in the form of torsion springs having a central coil part 5a to which the springs 4, 8 are connected and outer hooks 56 to which the peripheral spring 7 are attached.
