Abstract

658,680. Seats &c. HELLER, M. Feb. 28, 1949, No. 5343. [Class 52 (ii)] In folding chairs, back rests &c. in which the frames have spring surfaces consisting of tensile elements one or both ends of each of the frames is of open construction without a rigid cross member the members of the frame being spaced by pivoted leg supports or strut frames which include a rigid cross member ensuring that one or both open ends consist of spring edges. Fig. 1 shows a back-rest in which the back member is provided with a spring edge d the support comprising a pivoted strut b having a rigid cross member c disposed close to the pivots. Fig. 2 shows a deckchair having spring surfaces the top edge of the back being a sprung edge with a strut frame b having a rigid cross member c.
