Abstract

762,070. Centrifugal separators. JONES GAS PROCESS CO., Ltd. March 27, 1952 [Dec. 28, 1950], No. 31451/50. Class 23 A cyclone dust separator has a gas outlet 13 protruding into the separating chamber, and a sloping tangential inlet 11 merging into the helical top plate 14 which is so sloped that on completion of one turn in the chamber the gas stream is immediately below the inlet. The gas inlet is formed by inner and outer stainless steel, tubes, and the rest of the cyclone body and the inlet are formed from mild steel plates lined with refractory material. An element 18 of steel plate or refractory material may constrict the inlet. Dust discharged from the cyclone is collected in a hopper 16 having a discharge gate 17.
