Abstract

758,063. Electrostatic precipitation. AEROMIX ETABLISSEMENT. July 5, 1954 [July 7, 1953; Nov. 20, 1953], No. 19670/54. Class 39 (1). [Also in Group XII] Suspended solid or liquid particles are separated from a gas or vapour by passing the gas or vapour along a passage in which a centrally-fed rotary liquid atomizer 32 is positioned, the particles being charged positively or negatively, by a grid 31 before contacting with the liquid spray which is charged negatively, or positively. As shown, grids 41, 42, 43, 44 produce turbulence as the gas passes towards a grid 34 with negatively and positively charged parts, and further charging grids 36, 39 and liquid atomizers 37. Various forms of atomizers are described.
