Abstract
757,152. Induction furnace. TAGLIAFERRI, A. July 15, 1954, No. 20656/54. Class 39(3). A furnace of the type in which the primary 7, 8 of a transformer is surrounded by a crucible 2 for the metal to be heated, which metal provides the transformer secondary, is characterised in that the crucible base has an annular recess 1 which receives a metal ring for starting the heating operation. The Primary. winding is of copper pipe through which a coolant is circulated. A pouring spout 9, a removable lid 4, and a removable transformer core limb 3 are provided.
