Abstract
753,470. Tight coat galvanizing. WHEELING STEEL CORPORATION. April 8, 1953. No. 9524/53. Class 82(2). Tight coat galvanising is affected by the use of a galvanising pot employing electrical induction heating thereby obtaining a uniform composition of the coating bath and preventing the metal other than zinc from separating out therefrom. Aluminium, lead, antimony, cadmium or tin may be the addition metal. Steel is the base metal specified. The induction furnace has an external inductor unit 11 circulating the bath material through an inclined duct 8 and rollers 14, 15 and 16 are provided to receive and convey the strip 13 to be galvanised. In a modification (not shown), a depending partition is used to separate the pot at the top for the galvanising of individual goods, and a flux layer may be used where the articles are inserted into the bath.
