Abstract
1,148,319. Hot dipping with zinc or aluminium. NIPPON KOKAN K.K. March 24, 1966 [March 25, 1965; July 30, 1965; March 22, 1966], No.12949/66. Heading C7F. Apparatus for continuously manufacturing steel strips coated with protecting layers of metal, e. g. zinc or aluminium, comprises a reducing furnace for subjecting steel sheet stock to a reducing treatment on the surface thereof, a pot containing a bath of fused metal to coat on the said strip fed from the furnace and a conditioner arrangement for depositing solute carbon in the steel at such a temperature as to cause no practical quench hardening in the coated strip, the conditioner arrangement including a preheating chamber, an overaging chamber, an intermediate chamber isolating the overaging chamber from a cooling chamber, a rapid cooling chamber and a discharging chamber.
