Abstract
753,147. Endless conveyers. MATHISEN, A. L. Feb. 18, 1954, No. 4827/54. Class 78 (1). [Also in Group XXXI] A shoe for a vehicle traction chain or a goods transporting chain comprises a base structure 2 and U-shaped elements 1 made from strips of a yielding resilient material, the ends of the elements being connected to the structure 2. As shown, parallel link members 4 are secured to the base structure 2. The free ends of the elements, which may be formed from sheets of vulcanized rubber, are clamped between battens 21 forming the base structure, bolts passing through holes 3, 5 to clamp the battens and elements together and the battens to the members 4. The battens may be solid, for instance of hard wood or iron, and provided with a friction increasing coating. Alternatively the battens may be tubular or formed of solid rubber. In Figs. 2 to 5 (not shown) the ends of each shaped element are separated by one or two battens and some U-shaped elements may envelop others. Various spacings of the U-shaped elements are illustrated in Figs. 6 to 8 (not shown).
