Abstract

815,910. Laminates. GOODYEAR TIRE & RUBBER CO. Dec. 5, 1955 [June 14, 1955], No. 34746/55. Class 140. [Also in Group XXX] The load-carrying side 15 of a conveyer belt and the pulley-engaging side 16 are made of rubber, or rubber-like material, and are separated by sections of reinforcing material which include shock-absorbing layers 9, 11, 12, 14 made of nylon cords extending substantially transversely of the belt. The tension section is formed of layers 1, 2, 3, 4 of woven fabric, e.g. cotton warp with nylon fill, and is surrounded by layers 5, 6 and 7, 8 of pickless nylon cord fabric cut on the bias. The cords in the layers 5, 6 are substantially at right angles to each other and so are those in the sections 7, 8. Cushioning layers 10, 13 of rubber separate the layers 9, 11 and 12, 14, respectively.
