[Also in Group XX] A flexible transparent plastic backing sheet carrying diapositives of matter to be printed, 1, is applied to a sensitized printing cylinder 3 over a supporting table 2, the surface of which is provided, near the printing cylinder, with suction channels or grooves 4 connected with exhausting apparatus. The sheet 1 is initially fixed to the cylinder 3 as by adhesive and the cylinder then rotated. The grooves 4 serve to remove dust from the surface of the sheet 1. The supporting table may have a heater embodied therein for removing moisture from the sheet. Wiping devices 6, 7 are provided for additionally cleaning the sheet 1 and the cylinder 3.
