Abstract
748,062. Seats ; furniture frames. HOLM, E. G. May 17, 1954 [May 26, 1953], No. 14352/54. Class 52(2). A chair consists of a supporting structure comprising a base ring 1, outwardly splayed legs 3 and an inclined annular upper frame 2 the lower front edge of which is straight. A double ring 5, 6 fits over the upper frame 2 and carries a downwardly bulging piece of cloth 7 which forms the chair back and has a rigid disc-like plate 8 forming the seat part. When the ring 5, 6 and its associated seat and back are removed, like supporting structures can be stacked. In a modification, Fig. 4, the seat comprises a rigid plate 14, padding 15 and upper and lower covers 17, 16. The seat is secured to the cloth 7 by stitching 20, 23.
