Abstract
622,588. Seat frames. PEDDELL, W. H., and PNEUMATIC TENT CO., Ltd. March 31, 1947, No. 8631. [Class 52 (ii)] A camp 'seat &c. capable of being dismantled comprises springy frame parts which are placed under stress when the seat is erected and so maintain the seat firmly in the erected condition when in use. As shown the side members of a metal canvas seated camp chair comprise U- shaped members made up of three rods consisting of a base rod 1 of springy steel upwardly bent at its centre and two rods 2 fitting into sockets 3 on the rod 1. The canvas seat 9 is provided with rods 5, 6 having integral sockets 4 which are engaged by the upper ends of the rods 2 when the latter are pressed towards one another sufficiently, this action putting the rod 1 under stress. A back may be provided by an extension 10 of the canvas seat 9 the extension having side pockets 13 within which rods 11 may be engaged the lower ends of the rods 11 entering sockets 12 integral with the sockets 4. If desired the sockets 3 may be arranged on the rods 2. The parts of the chair when dismantled may be packed in a holder.
