Abstract
A plant growth regulator composition comprises as active ingredients (1) a chloro-aryloxyacetic acid in solution in (2) a glycol ether ester of a chloro-aryloxyacetic acid, the acid being present in the amount of at least 4 per cent by weight based on the weight of the ester. There may be added wetting and emulsifying agents such as polyglycol fatty acid esters, ethylene oxides-fatty alcohol condensates, glycerol mono fatty acid esters, alkyl aryl polyglycols tall oil-ethylene oxide condensation products, hexitan esters and hexitan ester polyoxyethylene derivatives, carriers such as organic solvents or solvent oils and dispersing agents such as mahogany soaps, sulphonated castor oil. In a preferred embodiment the chloro-aryloxyacetic acid has the formula <FORM:0745107/I/1> and the glycol ether-ester derivative has the formula <FORM:0745107/I/2> in which Ar represents a haloaryl radical such as 2,4-dichlorophenyl, 2-methyl-4-chloro-phenyl or 2,4,5-trichlorophenyl, Z represents an alkylene radical containing two or three carbon atoms, n is an integer not greater than 3, and R is an alkyl radical containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms.ALSO:A plant growth regulator composition comprises as active ingredients (1) a chloro-aryloxyacetic acid in solution in (2) a glycol ether ester of a chloro-aryloxyacetic acid, the acid being present in the amount of at least 4 per cent by weight based on the weight of the ester. In a preferred embodiment the chloro-aryloxyacetic acid has the formula <FORM:0745107/VI/1> and the glycol ether-ester derivative has the formula <FORM:0745107/VI/2> in which Ar represents a halo-aryl radical such as 2,4-dichlorophenyl, 2-methyl-4-chloro-phenyl of 2, 4, 5-trichlorophenyl, Z represents an alkylene radical containing two or three carbon atoms n is an integer not greater than 3, and R is an alkyl radical containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms.
