Abstract

738,884. Spring catches; obstruction bars. CHANNEL CONDUITS, Ltd., and FISHER, H. W. W. June 2, 1954 [June 5, 1953], No. 15537/53. Class 44. [Also in Group XXXVI] In a casing comprising a body 1 and a cover 5 having interengaging elements, a locking device is mounted on the cover and is movable to a position in which it prevents disengagement of the parts, the arrangement being such that the locking means function without pressing the interengaging elements together. The side walls 2 of the body 1 may be formed with indentations or beadings 3, the side walls 6 of the cover 5 being formed with complementary indentations or beadings 7. The locking device may comprise a bar 8 rotatably mounted within the cover and aligned with beadings 7. When the cover is positioned on the body the bar 8 is turned so that ends 8a engage beadings 3, the movement of the bar being limited by stops 10 on the cover. Alternatively, the locking device may comprise two aligned bars movable transversely of the cover by means of an elliptical cam engaging the inner ends of the bars.
