Abstract

738,863. Nails. CHURCHMAN, H. March 22, 1954 [March 24, 1953], No. 8144/53. Class 89(2). [Also in Group X] A fastener 13, Fig. 1, for attaching a fibre &c. board 10 to a support 12 having an upstanding rib 11, comprises a length of wire or strip, bent so that one end 18 penetrates obliquely into the board and the other end has a bend 15 to bear on the rib during penetration of end 18 into the board. The free end 19 is bent subsequently to lie against the rib. The portion 16 of the fastener between bend 15 and end 18 may be formed to lie against the support, and may have a looped portion for manipulation of the fastener. In a modification the end 18a, Fig: 4, is curved about the bend 15 and has a looped portion 25.
