Abstract

738,841. Portable containers. ROBINSON, F.G. Oct. 14, 1953 [Dec. 23, 1952], No. 32630/52. Class 66. A container has a polygonal, tubular cardboard, &c. body with at least one seamed-on metal end the edge of the body being reinforced to produce a projection round which the end rim 4 is secured. The body edge may be turned over as at 3 before or after formation of the tube, or a separate strip may be secured to the edge. The corners of the end forming blank are cut away to facilitate seaming. The seam may secure an inner paper sheet or strip to indicate tampering with the contents. The end may incorporate a pouring spout.
