Abstract
442,176. Paper &c. containers for milk &c. UTILITY CARTONS, Ltd., and PALMER, H. W. S., 2, Arundel Street, Strand, London. Nov. 22, 1934, Nos. 33601 /34, 33602 /34, 36124/34, and 1936 /35. [Classes 66 and 94 (ii)] A container for milk &c. is formed from a tube of paper &c. closed at each end by collapsing the sides to a straight line and securing the meeting edges of the walls together and waxing or so treating that a water-tight and substantially rigid container is formed. The container may be formed by wrapping a strip of paper &c. on a circular mandrel or by folding over the two side edge portions of a flat strip, to form a flat tube, and cutting sections therefrom. The waxing may be effected at any stage of the manufacture. Score lines 5 may be made in the tubular blank to give the erected container the form of a tetrahedron, Fig. 2. The edges may be secured together by U-shaped metal clips clamped thereon, or by rolling or folding the edges provided with adhesive. One edge 2 of the tube, at each end, may project beyond the other edge. Specification 442,180 is referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 433,480.
