[Class 94 (i).] In a package &c., of paper &c., impregnated with paraffin wax, both ends are scored to facilitate folding and sealed by applying heat to the folded edges, the sealed edges being then folded flat on to the ends of the package, being sealed in that position by heat, if required. A waxed tube, glued or waxsealed at the seam b, is scored at c, d, e and f at both ends and sealed by collapsing the end portions, as shown in Fig. 2, and heat treating the portion g, the sealed ends being subsequent by turned flat, the portion then lying along the top of the package, in which position it may be sealed by heat treatment. The side portions of the open tube may be cut away between the creases f and the vertical edges to allow, on the first sealing, of contact between the front and rear horizontal edges along the whole of their length. If desired only the two end portions of the carton utilised in the sealing may be impregnated with wax.
