Abstract

738,822. Copy-turning. ARMYTAGE, F. W. June 9, 1953 [June 23, 1952], No. 15709/52. Class 83 (3). A template-holder for copying-lathes &c. comprises a slide-bar to carry the template, a head formed with channel-shaped brackets and co-operating clamping pieces to hold the slidebar so that it can be adjusted longitudinally, and a spindle carrying the head at one end and mounted at the other end in a base for adjustably securing to the machine, whereby the head can be rotated in a plane parallel to that in which the bar slides and is also adjustable in a direction at right-angles to such planes. The template 3 is secured to the end of a rectangularsectioned bar 1 slidable in two channel-shaped brackets 4 formed in a bracket 5 and held down by clamping-pieces 6 and screws 7. The bracket 5 has a split boss 8 for securing it to a vertical spindle 10 so that the bracket may be adjusted through 360 degrees. The spindle is held at its lower end in a boss 11 for adjustment. The boss 11 forms part of a base 12 attached to a bracket 14 for fixing on a lathe bed &c.
