Abstract
552,493. Attachments for turning. PERRY, E. Jan 14, 1942, No. 541. [Class 83 (iii)] A lathe or milling machine attachment for relieving or formturning work Y to a form determined by a template Z on the same spindle as the work comprises a base 1 carrying a body member 2 adjustable angularly to three positions spaced at 45 degrees, and has channels to accommodate a tool slide 3 and a pattern slide 4, these slides being interconnected by a tongue 3a which is retained by a cover plate 5 and has symmetrical lower surfaces 4a inclined at 15 degrees to the horizontal. The pattern slide carries an adjustable finger 12 engaging the pattern and the tool slide is fitted with a post 10 carrying a holder 11 for a tool 13, the post being fed towards the work by a screw 8. The pattern slide is urged towards the work by a spring 6, the movement being limited by stop nuts 7.
