Abstract
737,131. Filters. CELANESE CORPORATION OF AMERICA. April 9, 1953 [April 9, 1952], No. 9655/53. Addition to 671,855. Class 46. [Also in Group XIII] A candle filter almost identical with that disclosed in the parent Specification differs from it in that the heating space is closed at the lower end by an annular end member so shaped that the heating medium makes contact with part of the periphery of the end member. The member 16 has an outer rim 15 to which the outer casing 11 of the filter is welded and an inner rim 50 protruding into the filter chamber 31. The top of the rim 15 and the axial peripheral portion 51 above it of the disc are thus in contact with heating medium passing through the space 25. The member 16 and an upper end member 13 have ridges 24, 23 respectively to engage and position the tube 22 and shell 30 defining the annular passageway 48 for the spinning solution.
