736,958. Bobbins. CERIONI, G. R. Dec. 17, 1951, No. 29438/51. Class 120(3). [Also in Group VII] A portable sewing- machine has a spool carrier 61 mounted on a post 50, on the casing, so that its resistance to rotation may be adjusted by means of a nut 69. The carrier comprises a central boss 60 and three spaced pins 62. The spool 51 slides over the central boss and the pins fit into bores 56, notched parts 64 of the pins co-operating with diaphragms in the bores to prevent accidental removal of the spool. The diaphragms consist of a lower part which is easily perforated by the points of the pins, and an upper stronger part which is engaged by the notches after perforation but which has a weakened connection to the bore so that the spool may be forcibly removed from the carrier.
